If your business is selling makeup and your target audience is 18-25-year-old women, it’s going to raise some eyebrows when 30-45-year-old men are somehow receiving your ads in their inbox or seeing them on their social media.

One way you can ensure that you reach your audience is by enlisting the help of influencers. Those who watch specific people on YouTube or Instagram or others often are more likely to buy whatever product they are using if it is in line with their overall image or brand.

Google Ads also offers targeted options when you utilize their services. Just make sure you set the correct parameters before you send them off into cyberspace.

Not Doing Proper Research

Even when you’ve managed to narrow down your target audience, there is still the question of what social media platform they most use so that they are more likely to see your advertisements.

Maybe social media isn’t the best avenue for your target audience (though you shouldn’t rule it out completely), and you need to explore more traditional means like sending coupons through the mail. Think of this as running a series of experiments to see which campaign bears the most fruit before you start pulling all of your efforts into one focused campaign.

If you spend your budget focusing too much on one platform and you’re not seeing any return, you’ll end up in a bit of a pickle.

Losing Repeat Customers In Exchange For New Ones

While having high numbers of new customers on your side is desirable, it isn’t a water-tight strategy.
